Justin Upton injury?

Postby s221506 » Sun Jun 07, 2009 7:25 pm

Left the game in the 10th. I think they said he hurt his shoulder. Anyone see/hear anything?

Ugh. that would be perfect. One of the lone bright spots on my team this season. :-/

I didn't see the play but typically a hurt shoulder on a swing means you popped-out/dislocated it. Did he get jammed?

I would disagree and say that a muscle strain is significantly more common on a swing unless the player has previously dislocated their shoulder.

I traded him away less than an hour before he got injured. I traded him and Ibanez for David Wright and Justin's brother BJ Upton :-)

Update from MLB.com:
"D-backs manager A.J. Hinch said he may keep Upton out of the lineup again Tuesday, when the team opens a six-game homestand. "He's truly day to day," Hinch said. "As of now, I think we've avoided a little scare." Upton, who was named the National League's Player of the Month in May, did not seem to think that the injury was serious. Fantasy owners hope that he's right."

:-t Day-to-day means last minute line-up checks and shuffling of players more often that I want to...

Here's to hoping he's back in form quickly...
