I'm looking to trade Mauer right now for a SP/RP combo in a Yahoo 6x6 keeper of mine (add TB and Hld), and I have a few offers on the table. We keep 4 batters and 2 pitchers and I'd be keeping 4 hitters for sure out of Roberts/Cabrera/Bay/Crawford/Rollins. CC is my only 'sure-thing' keeper as a pitcher, although I'd eyeball Jackson or Slowey if they keep pitching like they are.
Also, I can pick up Baker or Barajas off the wire to replace Mauer.
One offer is straight up Beckett -4- Mauer, the other is Volstad/Martin -4- Mauer. I'm not thrilled with either overall since there are no RP's involved. I'm thinking of making a counter offer of Mauer/Harang -4- Beckett/Franklin and another of Mauer/Harang -4- Volstad/B. Wilson if Beckett/Franklin is offered and rejected.
Thoughts on all the moves?
My offense is: Joe Mauer James Loney Brian Roberts Miguel Cabrera Jimmy Rollins Jason Bay Carl Crawford Brad Hawpe Todd Helton Freddy Sánchez
PItchers: CC Sabathia Edwin Jackson Matt Garza Mariano Rivera Jason Motte Juan Cruz Andrew Bailey Hiroki Kuroda Dan Meyer Aaron Harang Barry Zito Josh Outman Kevin Slowey Matt Palmer Scott Feldman

I have Sabathia on my team. And I've already tried to pry Billingsley before on a previous trade, and it would have taken a Miggy Cabrera to get him away.
As for what I could get for Mauer, trust me when I say I probably can't get much more than the offers I'd counter with.
Other teams I've thought about would have a Hamels or Halladay/Napoli/Downs for Mauer/Harang, (I offered, rejected) and the other 2 teams who have bad catcher situations subscribe to the "draft the minimum number of pitchers" theory, and won't trade any of them.

I think you are settling becuase you think you need to trade Mauer high. He's not gonna keep this torrid pace, but I'm not thrilled by Volstad or Franklin.
That was an offer I made a few days ago and was declined... I've been chatting with him, and he's still semi-interested, but these are the ones on the table at the moment.

Halladay is probably the best pitcher in fantasy baseball this year so gonna be hard to pull him away. Mauer has been on a torrid pace and probably will eventually get back to normal. I would look for teams with some of the worst statistical catchers and then go after SP/RP on those teams. Only think I can see being hard is if it is a keeper league, pulling young new talent from a team. I like pitchers like lincecum, gallardo, hernandez, jurrjens, etc. Mauer is currently ranked 21 in YGame so he has very good value. I would just email your entire league and let them know you are shopping Mauer and if anyone is interested and see what kind of offers you might be looking at and then counter. I woudln't do the volstad trade, the beckett+franklin for mauer+harang seems like an okay deal.
I don't like either of the current trades you're looking at. No, Mauer won't hit .420, but .330 with decent power is certainly within reason, and that's hard to find at C. Most people would consider Mauer (easily) as a Top-50 player, and many view him quite a bit higher than that. I certainly wouldn't trade a Top-50 (or a Top-20) player unless I got one in return. I'm also not a big fan of trading away a stud for a couple good players. It *might* add depth, but IMO weakens your starting lineup.
I'd hold pat...
Good luck!
