Okay, I know this is going to sound ridiculous BUT...i am thinking of giving up Longo for A-Rod in my 12-team Keeper (relevant keepers are in my sig).
The way I figure it is this: A-Rod has at least 3 more years of 1st-Round elite talent, and probably even 4.
Longoria has, well, probably over a decade of top-3 3B numbers.
However, A-Rod is a game changer, plays in a slightly better lineup, and plays in a launching pad. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with more homers than Longoria this year (already has 8 to Longo's 13 despite missing a month). Also, I have plenty of young talent that i've managed to hold onto for a few years now in Pujols (not even 30 yet), Reyes, Sizemore, Braun and Phillips (never thought my reaching for Phillips and Braun 2 years ago would pay off this much). So, losing Longo wouldn't be that tough on my overall "young" offense.
What do you guys think? Is this pretty much a wash? I really am thinking that A-Rod in that ballpark will still outproduce Longo for at least the next couple of years...and if i am looking to win the championship for the next couple of years that it would be a great trade-off for me as I still have an excellent group of young guys.
An help would be appreciated...please live a link, WHIR as always....
