Alright guys my team is in need of pitching. who would you suggest me moving for either a starter or a closer> and which do you think i should acquire a starter or closer?
16 team h2h mixed league
C-Wieters 1B-Teixiera 2B-Utley 3B-Chris Davis SS-Elvis Andrus OF- Nelson Cruz, Granderson, Markakis Util-Garrett Atkins, McCutcheon BN- Gordon Beckham
SP-Lilly,R. Wolf, Zach Duke, Randy Wells, and Blackburn RP- F. Cordero, Matt Thornton, Marmol, and CJ Wilson DL-Volquez, Duscherscherer (ahah spell check plz), and Percival
right now this guy was talking Zobrist and Joe Nathan for Markakis, but im not sure if i should just forfeit saves or what. Or if i need a good starting pitcher, if so who will you guys reccommend?
For a 16 team league your OF has to be one of the best. I'd start shopping Nelson Cruz first and see if you can sell him high. Try aiming for a Bedard, Lester, Lee type pitcher in return.
H R 3B HR RBI BB SB AVG OBP SLG Napoli, D Lee, Roberts, Tulo, Wright, Markakis, Abreu, Soraino, Pena Reimold, Morgan IP W L SV SVOP K ERA WHIP K/9 QS SP: C Lee, Vazquez, Shields, Dempster, Lowe RP: Hoffman, Capps, Lidge Bench: Joba, Neftali, Tillman
The reason no one is jumping to help is that you left out a ton of details that would need to be included.
Scoring system?-Looks like maybe roto, but that is a guess.
Daily or weekly transactions?
How many SP and RP can you start each day/week?
I am also assuming this is not a keeper. If it is a redraft league, Wieters is your best candidate to sell I think. Big name, but still a rookie and will probably not live up to his hype in '09.
As far as which pitchers to recommend, it would be impossible to tell without seeing the rosters of your entire league. There are tons of pitchers out there that could upgrade your staff. But maybe one that is a decent buy-low is Gavin Floyd. Sub-1 WHIP, sub-2 ERA, better than a K per inning in his last 4 starts. Maybe he is figuring it out.
