Just to let yall know. I read last week and now today that once valverde comes back, Hawkins and/or valverde could be traded.

More from Richard Justice on his chat with Astros owner Drayton McLane. It's "likely" that Ivan Rodriguez, Jose Valverde and Miguel Tejada will be shopped.

So it might be wise just to keep hawkins for the next month..He has actually pitched decent..If Valverde or hawkins gets traded(Rays???) then I would have two new closers instead of 1...

I wouldn't worry much about hanging on to him unless setup men are at a premium in your league (if Holds count or it's a pretty deep league). Stay on top of your news for Valverde (Rotoworld's solid), and you should be able to pick Hawkins back up if a deal gets done.

Any thoughts on valverde returning to the closer role? Looks good so far. How will he finish the second half out for the stros?

He's rumored to be a prime trade target, and he's already suffered one injury this year. Barring injury or being traded to a team as a setup man (I don't imagine that happening, but JJ Putz can't rule out the possibility), he should be pretty predictable.
