I was offered Geovany Soto & Kevin Gregg for Jorge Posada.
My current closers are Joakim Soria & David Aardsma. Aardsma has been pretty good since taking over. I always liked Soto but I'm not to familiar with how well he's doing this year. I hear he's struggling. I'm not confident in Posada's health though.

This question's kinda hard to answer because I think you need a backup plan for catcher and I don't know what's available. I think there are a lot of catchers that might put up better numbers than Soto this year so to me (depending on your league depth) he probably doesn't have much value. Gregg for Posada is interesting because either one could benefit your team significantly. Personally I would probably stand pat and not make the trade. I think it's more likely that Gregg loses the closer job to Marmol at some point than that Posada gets hurt. If you don't agree with that last statement, then you should do the deal.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this trade? I'm still unsure if I should accept it.

i turn it down, by accepting i fell like your watering down your team a bit, although i do expect soto to turn it around a bit (nice w/k rate and been a bit unlucky ~.260 babip)
http://www.fangraphs.com/comparison.asp ... &type=full Gregg isnt that sexy of an option at RP and Aardsma seems pretty safe in his role. Posada is a great hitting catcher in a great lineup hitting in a great park. Its close though, maybe counter with Posada for soto/better RP. It all hinges on if you feel like Soto will turn it around

I like the trade, Soto has power potential and I think he picks it up. Marmol has a a tendency to be wild, and while not pretty, Gregg is consistent. Do you have a backup option at catcher? If not, grab Ianetta when he comes off the DL.
