Geez. I'd take that trade too. Basically the same as the other one. Hanley > Howard. and you get Sherrill as well.

I missed the part where CC is included. Ok, so it's a little different. Basically is Hamilton/Sherrill + added bonus of hanley over howard worth more than CC. You have a pretty stacked rotation. But we don't know the full extent of hamiltion's injury and sherrill is shaky.
So I take back what I said, that's a tough one.

I wouldn't say thin.
Instead of 3.5 studs you'd have 2.5 studs + a pretty killer pen.
Gallardo being half a stud.

Is the original Ibanez trade off the table?

I don't like the original for you. In a vacuum its arguably good, but you've already got Reyes at SS. Reyes/Howard > Hanley/Pena.
