Peavy vs. Braun

My Deal

I give up: Peavy, Ludwick, Mike Gonzalez (possibly Lindstrom or Sherrill also)

I get: Braun and Price (maybe I should throw in Victorino too, and give him another closer)

So this guy needs closers and is getting killed by his Starting pitching. I need some major OF help. I also have 6 closers..... so I can spare a few.

P.S. Victorino is even on his bench...

Hmm I don't like this trade, here's why:

Yes, Ludwick just got off the DL, but from here on out, I say he's only slightly worse than Le-Braun.
Meanwhile, Peavy is far and away more reliable a SP than Price. It is possible Price matches Peavy this year for production, but I wouldn't bet on it. Also, consider that Price's arm might get tired out late in the season, or that he gets shut down early if the Rays don't compete. Meanwhile, Peavy is possibly going to get dealt to a contender, and will be a big-game pitcher right up until the end of the year.
