Closers? Help team?

Postby skjelstrom » Fri Jun 05, 2009 11:44 am

Ok so I have Brad Lidge, Heath Bell, and George Sherrill in my pitching lineup. Then I have Mike Gonzalez and Matt Lindstrom on my bench. then I have Jose Valverde on the DL. Soooo I know I don't need all of these closers and I want to pick up Jason Kubel and possibly Garret Atkins and possibly Matt Capps. Which guys should I drop? Or do you think I could trade any of them. Here is my lineup

C - Pablo Sandoval
1B - Ryan Howard
2B - Brian Roberts
3B - Kevin Youkilis
SS - Christian Guzman
OF - Michael Bourn
OF - Magglio Ordonez
OF - Johnny Damon
UTIL - Ryan Ludwick
Bench - Jay Bruce
Bench - Alexei Ramirez

SP - Tim Lincecum
SP - Jake Peavy
RP - Brad Lidge
RP - George Sherrill
P - Zach Duke
P - Heath Bell
P - Chris Carpenter
Bench - Mike Gonzalez
Bench - Jon Lester
Bench - Matt Lindstrom
DL - Jose Valverde

Whir. Thanks

i vote start alexi rameriz and trade closers for starters or possibly a catcher. you should be good with 3 closers, or 4 if you really wanna be like that :D

I don't think many would be interested in trading for closers....

I wouldn't straight up drop any of those Closers unless you absolutely had to (Sherrill maybe the only one I would), but I would definately try and trade them....maybe package 2-3 of them or 1-2 of them and and Offensive guy for a top SP and/or a top Offensive guy....then you will have room to add the guys you want. Like someone said though....some people don't look at trading for RP's but some might if you make it a tempting offer. Also, why do you want Capps if your worrying about having too many closers?....LOL (Capps shouldn't be on the WW though even with his injury problems and all)

As far as the lineup goes though....I would move Bruce in the Util spot as he has a better chance of getting out of the slump then Ludwick. Something just isn't right with Ludwick after returning from the DL as he has been worthless. I would maybe combine some RP's with Ludwick and make your move.

Good Luck!!!
