Im in a h2h mixed league thats 6x6 (slg, CG)
I need a a speedy outfielder who can hit for average, and i know the owner of denard span has a man-crush on hanson. Should i be asking more than simply a my hanson for his span swap?
thanks

Well it just depends in how much faith he has in him. I would start there, and try to convince him how good he is and then go from there. HE might pull the trigger if he really likes him.

I was offered Damon straight up for Hanson a week ago. You can get good value for him before his start. If he has a good start his value will skyrocket, if he has a shitty start you're gonna be stuck matching him up the rest of the year.

Prior to his start, Span for Hanson would be an average deal.
I'd hold him and wait for his start, if he pitchs a good game his value rockets up.

Go Jay Bruce. Credits to Super Manny.

At this point it really all depends on how others view him. I think he's gonna be a fantasy stud and is not worth moving at this point for Spenard. We're looking at an ace here. Would you move Webb or Peavy or CC for Spenard?
Yes, he's totally an unknown commodity but you can get better than that. Try to package him with an outfielder (not sure who you have) to get Carl Crawford or something like that.
He's supposed to be that good. If you can't get someone producing BIG right now, don't do it.
Others might disagree.
Help with mine?

i don't think you can move him until he pitches. Before he pitches the value rests only in your mind. Your league mates might over or undervalue him.
for a guy that is still in the minors i think you could get taveras, fowler, gomes, span, bourn....but you could get ellsbury if hanson goes out and throws 2 complete games and strikes out 20

I agree that trading Hanson for Span is average, but I would not do so until Hanson starts a game. He has huge upside and you dont want to lose that prematurely. See what happens Saturday, and then move on from there, you may end up being able to get a more valuable player than Span is Hanson blows up, or you just keep him.
