My 2009 Amateur Mock Draft 1-3 Rounds

Postby Havok1517 » Thu Jun 04, 2009 12:09 am

I put a lot of thought into this and I think this is as good of a breakdown on the draft I can do. I don't agree with all of these picks as I think some players are better than their draft status but this is simply a prediction of what I think could happen. Please express any thoughts or additions you might have. Obviously, the order and picks are contingent on previous picks. So, the mock in the cafe will look different. Thanks and I hope you enjoy!

Everything I've heard recently has Tim Wheeler moving into the first rd possibly the middle of the first rd.

Do you think Stoffel falls that far? He was getting mentioned some as the first RP taken earlier in the year (now that's Drew Storen).

Has DJ Lemaheiu retained his status in the top 40? I haven't heard much buzz about him lately.

but overall pretty well done.

Yeah, the small school factor scares me in Wheeler. Stoffel is behind Storen and likely Bullock too. I've read some that even like Tootle more as well. Lemaheiu will lose a lot of value if all teams see him as a 3B as I'm not sure he has the bat there. We'll see

The Franklin kid from Florida is getting a lot of ink of late. If you google him, he is all over the place starting with USA player for two years,6A Florida high school state champ, two back-to-back final four appearances, MVP in the Florida All star classic in front of 100 scouts on the team that hadn't won since 1990, voted by the Coaches and Press as the 6A Player of the year, etc. etc. Batted .538 wtih 11 homeruns this year.
