I didn't see the play but I heard on the radio that he left in the 8th inning. Hopefully it is nothing majory.
The Red Sox, though, lost Kevin Youkilis to a freak injury in the eighth inning. Youkilis was stretching for a throw at first when Josh Anderson appeared to step on the back of his right ankle.

i was watching the game. the really dropped to the ground after it happened. It looked like the guy might've spiked him in the back of the ankle. He was able to walk off on his own, but like my dad said so did Tom Brady, so we'll see. Youk's a fighter, if its not serious it shouldnt keep him out long
ya i was watching too... looked really bad the instant it happend... he threw his glove on the ground and was crawling.. but then he got up and walked off down into the dugout... most likely got spiked in the back of the ankle or an ankle twist... no one seemed too worried ... i'm sure he'll be fine
I was watching the game as well, and Youk was definitely hurting when it happened. I think he'll be OK though. I'm not sure he'll be in the lineup tomorrow, Kotsay might see his first start of the year at 1B tomorrow but I'm sure he'll be back in there when they face the Rangers this weekend. Youk is a tough guy, so if he does miss the game tomorrow he won't miss any more than that. Don't panic Youk owners, he should be fine!!

Brady didn't walk off on his own. He had coaches on each side of him helping him off. He wasn't putting any weight on that leg. It was pretty clear that Brady was done for the season. Youk walked off on his own, although he did limp down the stairs out of the dugout.
Not sure how serious the injury is, but I don't think there is any comparison.
Youks is ok! he wasn't spiked, merely "bruised". i should know, i am a die-hard Sox fan (hence the SN). But if you don't believe me, check out this link:
Considering that the only article about Youk I see is one from yesterday telling us he would play in yesterday's game, and since then he came out of yesterday's game with a separate injury, I'd say that website is a bit behind the times. Lol.
