12 team 18 cat H2H. I was offered Wright for Morneau or Ibanez? I currently have Cantu as my 3rd. I love DWright but man those Hr's don't look good. I know what the answer is ( NO ) to making these deals just want to hear it from you guys.
Man that would take some balls. I have mad two trades this year that haven't panned out. I traded JUpton for Nolasco in the first week and I just traded CDavis for Myers a week and a half ago. Anyone else??
In a std league, I'd do either trade, though I'd rather give up Ibanez. But I don't know how that applies to an 18-cat league. I have no idea what that looks like.
Yeah, I'd def do that. I don't see why Wright's power would vanish, it just seems to be a fluke. Ibanez isn't going to slug .800 or whatever he's at now for the entire year. In power cats, given his history, I still have to think that Wright's as good a bet as Ibanez, and he should be a good deal better in obp (a little better in avg, too).
And steals, I forgot about that. Obviously Wright's a better bet in steals. Ibanez has 4, but he only averages a handful every year. Wright should probably be good for 10+.
(No guarantees, obv. Just look at what Berkman did last year. But Wright's floor in steals is probably about Ibanez's ceiling, assuming health for both.)
Wright already has 12 steals, he's far superior to Ibanez in that cat. I may be biased, but I definitely like the deal for Ibanez. Citifield will hurt Wright's power numbers this year, but he still should hit 20-25 with his standard 100+ rbi's when it is all said and done. I'd do it.

Right. When I said he should be good for 10+, I meant for the remainder of the year, not total. Going by their 'usual' numbers, I'd guess Ibanez only gets 2-3 the rest of the way, Wright should be 10-15. Though there's a lot of variability, of course.
