Why both? LIncecum for Arod is fair enough. I say no.

I'd drop Scott for Hanson immediately. You have plenty of OF.

Help?

That was just the trade that was offered to me...it was a counter off of an earlier deal because I am desperate for a 3B
I was trying to determine each player's value in this deal basically, I also have Greinke and Halladay that I am considering countering with instead of lincecum

I really like your pitching staff... honestly I'd rather keep your dominant pitching and live without ARod as you still have the hitting to compete. You're giving up too much for ARod - two aces.

I'm not sure you're offense needs to have ARod. It seems to me that your hitting should be pretty dominant. Your pitching staff definitely takes a huge hit with the loss of those two although it will still be quite good. Just not sure the upgrade you'll get on offense is worth the huge loss at pitching. ARod is definitely not worth those two.

I like this trade for you here without Carpenter. Tim for A-rod straight up. That would be a nice upgrade at 3B for you. You got enough SP to cover and think about how many SP's are on the waiver throughout the year. Granted they are not aces, but you have 4 on the squad without Lincecum. A-rod caliper hitters will not be on the waiver anytime soon.

The other person is trying to value carpenter low based off of being out last year thus uncertainty and a low draft pick this year. You are giving up 2 upper tier pitchers for 1 upper tier third baseman. I would only do this trade if you are giving up 1 upper tier pitcher for Arod.
