Billingsley trade WHIR 100%

Postby Hit Factory » Wed Jun 03, 2009 12:00 pm

I am thinking about dealing Chad Billingsley. I have a pretty strong staff (Hamels, Slowey, Cain, Buehrle, and Dice-K,) and I would like to package Chad in a trade. I have come up with a few different options, please help me out and tell me which you like the best, thanks! WHIR QUICKLY 100%

1.) Billingsley/Aaron Hill for Matt Holliday/Cano

2.) Billingsley/Hill for Utley/Adam Jones

3.) Billingsley for Justin Mourneau

My current team:
Posada
Dunn
Aaron Hill (I think he will start declining)
Callaspo
Youkilis
CI: Branyan
MI: Freddy Sanchez
Sizemore
Carlos Lee
Dye
Bourn
Util: Billy Butler
BN: Mike Jacobs
BN: Kelly Johnson

Hamels/Billingsley/Cain/Slowey/Dice-K/Buehrle/Chien Ming Wang/K-Rod/Kerry Wood/Rafael Soriano

thanks for the help on mine.
Personally, I like option 3 the best. Yes, you need help at SS, but I'm not crazy about deal 2. If you could get Utley and Jones that would be a great deal for you. Deal 1 is not that bad either. So I'd rank them as 3, 1, 4, 2. Try them in that order, but none of them are bad deals.

1.) Billingsley/Aaron Hill for Matt Holliday/Cano - great if you can get it
2.) Billingsley/Hill for Utley/Adam Jones - great if you can get it
3.) Billingsley for Justin Mourneau - fair on both ends

From your end, I'd rank them as you have them listed...I think Cano > Hill the rest of the way, and Holliday > Bills as well (which probably means the other owner won't go for it). Same with #2,but it never hurts to try. #3 is a fair offer on both ends, and if you did this deal you also strength your OF by moving Dunn to the OF...

thanks for the help on mine.

Hey,

I really like deal 2, for Utley and Adam Jones. Getting these two would greatly help your offense, particularly in the runs scored department. I would definitely try for this deal.

Help? viewtopic.php?t=388435 Thanks!

All 3 are great for you, but the only one I see being accepted is the first one.

2
3
1
In that order. Good luck.

Lets throw these other 3 trades into the mix:

A.) Billingsley/Dunn for Mourneau/Bay

B.) Billingsley/Carlos Lee for Hanley/Justin Upton

3.) Billingsley or Hamels/Carlos Lee for Adrian Gonzalez/Matt Kemp

First, these are all good trades for you. It'll probably come down to which one the other guys would go for. And also your own personal opinion for how you want to shape your team: ie, upgrade at 2B, SS, OF, and/or 1B? sacrifice a little power for speed? which guys do you like to keep pace, pick up the pace, or fall off pace?

Of these new trades, I really like A - it's an improved version of your original #3. Morneau > Dunn and Bay is good return for Bills (who will help your lineup greatly, especially with Sizemore on the shelf).

Value is good for the new B and 3 (why do you have to make things difficult and list them as A, B, and 3? :-b ). But I don't like giving up Lee, who is arguably your best hitter.
