Nomo had shoulder surgery and he's still working his arm. Will he get his velocity up in the 90's? I'd say, yes, sooner or later.

Nomo is neither a knuckleballer or a HOFer. A better example might be Moyer, but they have distinctly different ways of getting batters out.

Talk about the dangers of relying on spring training stats.

The guy is a veteran pitcher. Its not the same as Billy Koch losing his fastball. Plus, its spring training for gosh sakes, give the brother a break.

the scouting reports put his fastball at about 89, if he has lost seven mph, it is trouble. Nomo is hardly a finesse pitcher that MAdduax and Moyer are, or a Knuckle baller. He is a strike out pitcher and seven MPH is a lot for a guy that relies on k's to get outs.
