Please evaluate these 2 trades (getting Berkman/Braun) WHIR

12 team 5x5 roto money league non-keeper.

I'm in first place, but lacking in power a bit.

Trade #1
I give Loney and Orlando Hudson, I get Berkman

I accepted this deal, I think its worth the risk seeing as I'm not giving up a whole lot.

Trade #2
I give Lincecum, I get Braun

This one is tough. I'm loving having a dominant pitching staff, but looks like I've lost Hamilton for a couple months and Braun would be a nice replacement.

Current Roster:
SP - Lincecum, Halladay, King Felix, Jared Weaver, Joba, R Johnson
RP - Hoffman, Soria, Valverde

C - V Martinez
1B - Loney
2B - Hill
SS - Furcal
3B - Longoria
MI - Hudson
CI - Lowell
OF - Hamilton, Wells, Pierre, Dejesus, Crisp
DH - WIllingham
Bench - Ross, Podsednik, Lugo, Byrd (I pick up and drop a lot)

Thanks!
Bench -

That first trade is money! Well done. I agree that the second trade is much more difficult to pull the trigger on but I would do it. Given your depth at pitching and your shaky OF with Hamilton on the shelf I think it makes sense. It's nice to have a dominant staff but remember that in roto it doesn't matter if you are first in wins by 1 or 100, you still can only get 12 points max.

In roto, I probably do this deal. Head to head, I probably wouldn't. I agree with the poster above. The dropoff without Hamilton is too severe. Braun's bat is a huge addition.

I like both deals for you... first one is a real coup. Second one, hurts to give up Lincey but Braun is definitely worth it.

Agreed with above. Both trades completely upgrade and fit the needs of your team. The dominate pitching you have will be able to absorb the Lincecum loss. Braun will be a great addition. GL

These are both very good trades for you.. there's a reason Braun went before Lincecum in nearly every draft this year...

Help please
