Chris Davis for Andy LaRoche (WHIR)

Postby BUCCOFAN » Tue Jun 02, 2009 2:30 pm

Deep 15 team Auction League, Fantasy Points. I have just about lost my patience with Chris Davis, he was one of my keepers (jewels) this offseason. 12 hr's aint bad but the sub .200 avg is a joke, and to make things worse our league penalizes on strikeouts. :~( He qualifies @ 3B for one more year, then he will just be "average" across the diamond @ 1B, so I am wondering if I should bail on this sap ASAP. We start 2 (3B) weekly, and I have lost A-Ram for a couple months. currently been playing Davis and Coghlan @ the hot corner, desperatley waiting for A-Ram's return. There is nothing on the waiver wire, being such a deep league. players get 3 year contracts then become free agents.

I GET:
3B - Andy LaRoche $1 (1) (has two more years left @ that salary) (this is "ANDY" not "ADAM" LaROCHE) the younger brother playing3B

I TRADE:
3B/1B - Chris Davis $5 (2) (has one more year left @ that salary)

Am I bailing to soon on this guy, or is he just another Russell Branyan (before this season of course) LOL!!!

Andy LaRoche has been rather productive of late, sure no power numbers, (ony 2 homers to date) but a .300 avg, and doesn't strike out much is what I am after for the time being. Sure I am selling really low on Davis, but what other options do I have??? I think the Rangers might demote him soon then I will be really up the creek......

Honestly Chris Davis is BAD right now but he has upside that Andy doesn't so I would just wait it out IMO.

Thanks for helping with mine.

I as well would wait for Chris Davis to get out of his funk. As stated, more upside.

Andy has some good upside. At the cost I'd probably make that deal.

Please help with my thread "Which side wins?"

Andy has upside! What is your salary cap for your auction league? I think both of them are rather cheap but andy is dirt cheap with high upside. I'd go Andy

Salary Cap is $305, and with the size of league, scoring guys for $1 now, is even more important. PLUS I have Pedro Alvarez in my minor league roster, which is the apparent to Andy LaRoche @ 3B, for the Bucs.

Davis could come back and haunt me, I am currently in 1st place. but really am worried about losing Davis to the minors, and then I would be in a real pickle. I wouldn't be surprised if they send him down soon. to work on his swing.
