Head to head league and my team's only real closer right now is Wilson. Looking to ship out Bedard for Capps, what do you think of this deal? Seems like a lot but there are move limits so it is tough to just pick up a potential closer each week and Capps at least has a solid strangle hold on the job as long as he's healty. Leave a link I will help out with yours and thanks.

What other pitchers do you have, Bedard could garner more than Capps, so I would add more to the deal.

I have Cueto, Wandy, Lester, Liriano, Smoltz, and Romero. Obviously the guys I expected to come up big this season are struggling but I still think Liriano/Lester will finish up just fine. Not many people trade closers is the problem cause yea Bedard is definitely more valuable than Capps.

I would sell high on Wandy for capps if not ask for anothe pitcher along with Capps for Bedard.

Wandy is the best pitcher in your rotation right now. He had one bad start, it's not a reason to get rid of him. Trading him for a struggling closer isn't trading high, it's trading stupid. Start with Smoltz, there is no reason to believe Smoltz will be effective at all this season. His longest rehab outing this season has been 5 innings, and he barely managed that. Then try Liriano or Romero. I wouldn't deal Bedard for a closer.

I agree that i wouldnt deal Bedard for a closer.
I think attempting Liriano may be a good route to take, maybe the other manager is a believer
Smoltz isnt a bad idea either IMO; but i'd say keep Bedard if you can

if you can dump Liriano, which I'm trying to do, for Capps that would be a fair deal IMO. Trading Bedard is too much for Capps esp. with Bedard is being tagged as this year's Rich Harden for the trade market.
