2 Waiver Questions! Can't make a decision..WHIR

Postby Papelbon Fire » Tue Jun 02, 2009 12:19 pm

I am in a 12 team Yahoo 5x5 league and my team is starting to pick up its performance after a slow start. However, I feel there are still a few holes in my line up. Here is my team:
C-Wieters, Barajas
1B-Howard, Johnson
2B-Utley
SS-Al. Ramirez, Bartlett (DL)
3B-Branyan
OF-Hunter, Werth, Granderson, Hairston Jr
SP-Halladay, Dice K, Lester, Price, Zito, Richmond, Floyd
RP-Wilson, Downs, Ra. Ramirez

So here are my thoughts:
I can't decide whether or not to drop Nick Johnson for Jim Thome. I like Johnson's AVG and OBP, but I also like Thome's SLG% and the line up he's in better.
I am also contemplating drop Jerry Hairston Jr. for Scott Hairston. They are performing somewhat similar right now, but I am also weary about the potential drop off in performance of SH and the fact that he plays in pitchers ballpark.
Either way, I am thinking about dropping Nick Johnson for Jim Thome or Scott Hairston, but I can't decide if I want to make both moves...

Thoughts? WHIR

I would not drop Johnson. Your real weak spot to me is the OF.

I've noticed that, but I know Werth should return to form soon as soon as he figures out his funk. What about dropping JHjr for SH?

I wouldn't drop Jerry Hairston for Scott Hairston. Scott Hairston is finally reaching his potential this year but I don't think he will be able to sustain this. He will probably get injured soon, because thats what he always does.

You look pretty solid in the HR category also so you should keep Johnson.
