Start Dice-K vs. DET tonight?

Good question.

I'm going to sit him as I did last game (thankfully.)

- I'm tired of him sending my ERA and WHIP back to last place every time I claw my way out of the basement in those catagories.
- He hasn't won a game all season.
- The only thing he's good for is about a K/inning. But since he doesn't accumulate many innings, that has become a small consolation.
- Detroit and Boston have almost identical W/L records, but Detroit is 15-7 at home and Boston is 12-16 on the road. (I'm not sure who's had the harder schedule. Maybe someone could comment on that.)
- The betting line on this game makes Detroit a 20-25% favorite to win.

I'm looking to trade Dice-K away as soon as possible.

LoL. But have I convinced you to get him off your roster, or do you think their is hope for him down the road this season? Tonight will give another clue, I guess.

I'm going to give him at least two more starts including tonight. Then we'll see.

Did you start him last night kaiser? Sorry if I talked you out of that one. My question now is, "Is he back for good?"

Nope, I sat him. I'm thrilled about it.

He needs his confidence back, and last night was a nice step in that direction. I definately start him in his next start, and then we'll see what happens...

I just concluded trading him for Brad Lidge since his last start. I think that was fair and I'm probably less vulnerable to ups and downs now. I'm punting Ws anyway and going to try to make a move on ERA/WHIP.
