Trade advise for struggling team

Postby beefcurtain » Tue Jun 02, 2009 8:55 am

My team is in 10th place, and I'm looking to make a move. I have A. Hill and Utley. One owner would like to trade me Hawpe, Wells or Lind for Hill. I already have Kemp, Abreau, B. Upton, Choo and Cuddyer, though.

Hawpe for Hill?

That same owner has Fielder, Tex and Bay. Maybe you can suggest a trade for one of those players

My team
C - McCann
1B- Berkman
2B-Utley
3B- Chipper Jones
SS - Zobrist
OF - Kemp, Abreau, B. Upton, Choo and Cuddyer
Util - Hill

Thanks

From who you have as hitters, I am not sure trying to upgrade their is your best bet. How does your SP look? Your OF could use some help but I don't think that any of the guys he is offering is much of an upgrade for you.

I am sorry to say that, but you seem like not having quality trade values from your current players (Sorry). I have the similar problem with you, stuck with Chipper and Berkman, but at least you have Zobrist. What I would try to do is trade Aaron Hill for a proven good power hitter, like the ones you mentioned, but I doubt it will work. Another way is to explore the FA market as much as possible. But if you have to pick up players like Zobrist and Cuddyer, I think you may have done your best. Good luck.

There are not many second baseman out there and I have two so I think I at least have some trade value.

If you want to stick with hitters I'd work on your OF situation first. Hill is good trade bait IMO. I'd see what other offers you can field for him and maybe even a package deal with him and injury prone Chipper Jones. It just depends on what the other teams need as well. If you're willing to send Hill for a SP that would be a good strategy as well. Good luck... and thanks for the help on mine.

I've always liked Hawpe. I don't think that's a bad move BUT you might be better suited trading Hill for another SP. Seems like this guy is being reasonable in trying to obtain Hill but explore your possibilities.

Thanks for the help with mine.
