I was offered Brandon Phillips for B.J. Upton, I am contemplating this because Upton has been god awful. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. WHIR 100%
my current offense: Posada Dunn Aaron Hill Youkilis Callaspo MI: Freddy Sanchez CI: Branyan Sizemore B.J. Upton Carlos Lee Dye Bourn Util: Billy Butler BN: Mike Jacobs
The only draw back i see to this is that you already have Hill at 2b. But I think you should go through with the trade and then maybe use Hill as a trading chip for another OF. I think right now people would place more value on Phillips than BJ, so its an increase in value if anything. hope this helps
Eh its tough but phillips has a nagging hand injury if i can recall correctly and will apparently play through pain so it is to be seen if his stats are hampered at all. Your right though Upton has been awful but if your set on trading him I think you might be able to do better. Theres also the possibility he turns it around and hits like he did in the post-season which makes it a tough call. I say no go on the trade.
No go. U already have Hill firstly. Second, remember, Upton missed spring training and the beginning of the season and is still playing catch-up. Far too talented to stay on this course. Furthermore, even batting .200 he is scoring runs and swiping lots of bases. Stick w/him a little longer, u don't need Phillips and right now Upton's trade value is as low as it will ever be.
As a phillips owner I dont think his injury is much of a concern but I also dont think you want to sell upton at his current low value. especially since you have hill at 2b. id keep bj for now. if you want to deal him id wait until he gets on a bit of a hot streak and then shop him around then.
