Hamilton's MRI in being performed to rule out a sports hernia, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Recommendation: There's some obvious red flags here, as Hamilton is being sent to the same doctor that operated on Ian Kinsler last season and Kinsler's symptoms leading up to the surgery were similar in nature to the ones that Hamilton has fought through in recent weeks. Hamilton owners might want to put a few speculative bucks on Andruw Jones, Marlon Byrd or David Murphy if any are available as insurance.

Anyone know how his MRI went? A day later and still no info... Seems like a bad sign. I smell a DL trip on the horizon. As another owner who just bought low, I'm starting to question the move.

I dealt him away a couple of weeks ago and got back Jason Bay in return. But I feel for Hamilton owners, I think a trip to the DL is most likely on the horizon for him. That sucks for those of you who do have him.

Well I got him for 2 of my bench players, so as far as my starting goes, I'm OK.... as long as he's not done for the season or anything crazy like that!

In the long run, the time you'll need him is in September, so don't question buying him low if you can survive and make playoffs.

Josh Hamilton's appointment with internist Dr. John Preskitt is coming up soon. Can't this guy push a couple appointments back to make room for a baseball superstar? Anyhoo, Brandon Boggs is here and will be placed on the roster if it's determined that Hamilton needs to be put on the disabled list.

Hamilton definitely won't be in the starting lineup (his appointment isn't until 2 p.m.), unless he takes the concorde and parachutes in. But he might be around for the later innings. The 3:10 flight from DFW yesterday had plenty of seats available, and there were a couple right behind that one.

DL'd with the abdominal strain.

Could be 2 weeks if anti-inflammatory medicine takes care of it... could be 2-3 months if it doesn't and he has surgery.

Abdominal strains, like Hamilton's, could sideline any player from 2weeks to 3 months. But, ya, it's looking like 2 months. Those will be a long two months for your team but Hamilton's rebounded back from worse.
