I moved him for Manny. 1-for-1. But this was a week into May; the Manny owner now may think, “I’m already half way through the suspension, might as well keep him.” Plus, Chipper keeps coming out of the lineup due to nagging injuries, his back one game, his elbow another, today it’s his toe, etc. A month ago, Chipper was relatively healthy. By now, it might be harder to move him.

I made this trade yesterday -
Gave - Reynolds, Carpenter, V.Wells
Got - Chipper, Ludwick, B.Wilson
...so I basically viewed Chipper as an upgrade over Reynolds (to put things in perspective). The nagging injuries are worrisome (seriously, his "big toe" hurts!), but I still think he has value.

I think for the right team he has great potential value. When healthy, I don't think it's a stretch to call him one of the top-fifteen hitters in the game. He still hits for power, hits for average and draws walks. He would make such an ideal DH for an AL team that it's not even funny. So all that said, yes, I do believe he has some value. What you coulc get in return is very dependent on the other team's needs as well as what they have to deal plus what that owner's personal appraisal of Chipper is...............
