Trade Rollins for Greinke?

Postby Lil' Doug Dascenzo » Mon Jun 01, 2009 10:31 am

This trade was offered to me in a deep keeper league and before I post my whole roster, I just want a gut reaction from you kind folks...

I get:
Greinke
Miguel Tejada

I give:
Rollins
Joba

Thanks for replying to my post....

At a glance I would lean towards keeping Rollins and Joba.

When you look at it Greinke hasn't been all that great in the past as he is this year. In a keeper league his value will taper next year and the next and so on which mean Joba and him will become very equal and I personally think Joba will do better in the long run (just not this year of course) and the fact that Joba has played less years also make for better value in a Keeper.

As far as Rollins and Tejada......they have both been around a while and in this case I feel both start taking hits due to years they have played (veteran status).....so it really boils down to Tejada (Power) or Rollins (Speed-SB's).....

IMO though I really think Tejada might be done soon even though he is still playing lights out this year. For this trade though based on this year I would want Greinke/Tejada but after this year I would go with Rollins/Joba.

Good Luck!

Greinke > Joba
Tejada < Rollins

Seems like a fairly even trade to me. If you are in need of pitching, then pull the trigger to get Greinke. If not, then stand pat because I think Rollins will give you better numbers than Tejada.

Thanks for the help on mine.

I like Greinke alot, and I don't see Jobe being nothing more than Riveria replacement since he has troubles pitching late in the game, much like Kazmir, Tejada will be a throw away after this season, and Rollins will keep rollin, the question is how bad do you need starting pitching? I believe Greinke will be a stud pitcher for yeasr to come, this season is a fluke but years of 15-20 wins and a sub 3.50 era is legit.

If it were me I would do it

I'd lean towards doing this deal; Greinke is solid and will be for years; Tejada not tons of value for the future but good enough replacement for this season.

I'm not a Rollins fan personally, so maybe a bit bias.
