Ethier vs. Cuddyer - Drop Which? WHIR

Postby yanks2327 » Mon Jun 01, 2009 2:46 am

I need a starter pitching for a team with some W potential, so I'm looking to pick up Maine. I'm debating between dropping Ethier, who's been ice cold since Manny got suspended, and Cuddyer, who left today's game with some sort of finger issue.

I like Ethier's youth and potential, but would prefer production now and I think Cuddyer may be a better option over the next couple months (at least until Manny returns), and the X-rays he took after leaving today's game apparently were negative.

Should I stick with Cuddyer, who I think will be more consistent over the near-term, or hang onto Ethier and wait for him to turn it around?

I'm in a 10-team H2H semi-keeper (6 - 10 players), 5 X 5 plus BBs; I could really use BBs, and think Cuddyer may have a slight edge there over the course of the season.

Thoughts??

A bit of a thinker, but I just can't ignore what Ethier put together last year. You waited this long, I would wait longer. Cuddyer is hot at the moment, and you are right can be depended upon for his numbers, but I'd hate to miss Ethier on a tear later.

Waiting is not a really high risk.

neither I would trade cuddyer since he is hot maybe do a 2 for 1 for a solid pitcher or a upgrade at second base.

When you're talking about bench OFs, and it's a keeper go with the potential. Hang onto Ethier.

I'd stick with Ethier too. He's bound to turn it around.
