BTW Ben Zobrist is on the waiver wire so replacing Pedroia is not a huge deal.

As long as he is 2B eligible, that's good. Garza is being considered a "sell high" guy right now because his BAA is lower than just about everybody, including Johan. He's a good pitcher, sure, but I expect his ERA to take a little hike (4.00 range) over the next few months. Shields is pretty good as well - not an ace, but a good pitcher to have in there.
If you're really needing the SP (Rich Hill is starting?) and your offense is raking, I take the deal.
Which SP do you prefer, even if they aren't as good as Garza or Shields yet?

Hey sorry Fantasy GM to screw you over and not help in return but I really do not know anything about those guys and I don't want to give you false advice.
But as far as my post goes yes Rich Hill is in the rotation and I need pitching badly (not just an ace but two mid tier pitchers) would Volquez and Carpenter be a better duo for my team and is this the right approach or do I need an ace?

No worries. As for your team, if you can get an ace, that'd probably work out the best. You have a lot of pitchers on your team as it is, most of whom are certainly above-average. Volquez had an incredible first half, and a not-great second half last year. Carpenter is really good, but he's injury-prone. I think Volquez/Carpenter offer more upside but at more of a risk, but you know you're getting solid production from Garza/Shields, even if their numbers aren't ace-worthy.

Would this be a good trade my Pedroia and Granderson for his CC and Phillips?
