Trade Greinke or Lilly to Land B. Avg Help?

Postby jmcampbe11 » Sun May 31, 2009 5:30 pm

In an effort to mainly try an dimprove my batting avg, I'm considering making one of these trades. Thoughts? Can my pitching staff weather the hit? Which one do you like more...or would you make either one?

TRADE 1 -
GIVE - LIlly/A.Gonzalez
GET - Danks/Texiera

I personally like Danks quite a bit this season (just think he's gotten off to a rough start) and think Lilly's bound to fall a bit (i.e., end up with an era around 4. Am I the only one? Also this is a 3 player keeper league and Texiera would be a possible keeper for next season.

TRADE 2 -
GIVE - Greinke/A.Gonzalez
GET - Halladay/M.Cabrera

I LOVE me some Greinke, but this is too good to pass up right? Cabrera would realy help me with batting avg, and become a keeper for next season (along with Sizemore and Longoria).

.
MY TEAM - 10 team roto - keep 3 players
C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-Alx.Ramirez 3b-Longoria CI-C.Jones MI-Zobrist
OF-Sizemore, Hamilton, Adm.Jones, Dye, V.Wells UTIL-Reimold (or Crisp)
SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Lilly, Jimenez, *Smoltz, *Escobar
RP-Broxton, Qualls, B.Wilson, Wheeler, Isringhausan, Morrow

Trade 1 is meh. Trade 2 is awesome. Greinke and Halladay should be even from here on out, so no loss there. And MCab is clearly an upgrade over Gonzalez. Great deal. ;-D

Help?

Trade #1 gives you a slight edge - Tex is usually a little better in the second half and you hit the Danks/Lilly debate. AGon is a good player though, not to get lost in the mix,

Trade #2...I hope you hit accept by now. Greinke has been awesome, but Halladay is also a top-notch ace. MCab is also better than Gonzalez, he does everything but steal bases.

Which SP do you like? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=387918&p=3093511#p3093511
