Am I Selling Carpenter Too Low? Thoughts? WHIR

Postby jmcampbe11 » Sun May 31, 2009 10:31 am

Looking to improve in batting avg. Thoughts on this trade? Am I giving up too much in Carpenter or does it seem fair/a good move for me?

TRADE
GIVE - M.Reynolds, V.Wells, Carpenter
GET - Huff, Ludwick, B.Wilson

If you think I'm giving up too much what if I 1) upgraded Huff to Chipper or 2) upgraded Wilson to Nathan? Any better? Again, I'm desperately trying to improve my team's batting avg.

MY TEAM
-10 Team Roto League
-Currently in 1st place. Strong in all categories except batting avg (getting 2 points)

C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-Alx.Ramirez 3b-Longoria CI-Reynolds MI-Zobrist
OF-Sizemore, Hamilton, Adm.Jones, Dye, V.Wells UTIL-Reimold (or Crisp)
SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Carpenter, Lilly, Jimenez, *Smoltz, *Escobar
RP-Broxton, Qualls, Wheeler, Isringhausan, Morrow

I think you are selling too low on Carpenter. He is prob. the best player in the trade. I do not think you need to trade.

What if I was getting Chipper instead of Huff? Any better?
or
What if I asked for Nathan instead of B.Wilson? Any better?

Thanks for helping on mine....

I concur with Wyld Stallions. I think you are giving up too much in this deal.

If you need AVG. You definitely are!! None of the guys you are getting are gonna help you, in that cat. I've got HUFF on my team and I'm lucky when he goes 1-4. Chipper would definitely help your AVG though. I thinks straight up Carpenter and Jones would be fine. With Chipper as UTIL would be good.

I'm confidend Huff will bat at least 20 points higher then Reynolds. Also Ludwick hit .300 last season (vs Wells who's career avg is in the .270s)

So you like the Reynolds/Carpenter/V.Wells FOR Chipper/B.Wilson/Ludwick deal the most?

I like the deal if Chipper is there instead of Huff like other poster have said Huff won't help your AVG but Chipper will a little bit.

I haven't played much Roto before, but I like getting Chipper and playing him at your UTIL spot. You have strong enough pitching to move Carpenter as well.
