So I am wondering if this is a fair trade for me. I really like Morneau but (my wife...lol) and I also like M.Teixera alot as well so.....12 Man Roto league (I am in 6th place and the other guy is in 3rd)
I trade: Morneau, Chipper, BJ Upton
for
His: Teixera and C.Billingsly
Here is my full team and just for the record Chipper has been stinky all year and BJ Upton was never part of my lineup (Never played)
Not sure what I am giving up for Tex? He won't do Tex for Morneau straight up (and I agree as I posted a different post in the past and everyone ranked Teixera over Morneau)
I am basically trading a slumping Chipper and BJ Up who sits on my bench for Billingsly and part of that also pushes him to trade Tex for Morneau.
so......did you forget that Billingsly is involved here as well or what?
Anyone? The offer is out there and he's contemplating it and I don't want him to pull the trigger if I'm getting hosed!
If I am giving way to much then is there anybody else I should try and get from him? What other offer should go out there instead? Am I fine with the original offer? Thanks again and WHIR!!!

So.....I canceled the offer and he came to me with the same offer saying he would do it.
Should I? I figure Upton doesn't get any playing time, Tex is an upgrade over Morneau (especially the way he has been playing) and then it's down to Billingsly for Chipper. I have 3 guys that can play 3B already so Chipper is almost a waste (Inge, Cantu, Young)
should I accept his Tex/Billingsly for my Morneau/Chipper/BJ Upton??? (that would give me a WW spot also)
What could I add to this in order to maybe get Adam Jones (Since Sizemore went on the DL for me)?
Please help ASAP as I don't want him to take the offer off the table if this works for me. (I really want Tex)
Eh. If you believe BJ Upton will come around, that will end up being an awful deal for you. If you believe Upton is a bust this year, then it is in your favor as Chipper is not as valuable as Billingsley imo. That said, Chipper is a solid option and I do think he will pick it up soon, so I would be inclined to just stay put and hope Upton comes out of it. If Upton flops then you really did not lose much taking the chance anyway and you do not win leagues by selling high round picks low.
And even if you assume Upton is a bust, then the gain you get in doing the deal is not going to put you over the top in all liklihood and move you from 6th to first anyway. You have a far higher probability of making that type of move if Upton plays well and posts some decent numbers to go along side those of Chipper and Morneau. There is no prize for finishing 3rd over 6th and there is not penalty for finishing 8th instead of 6th in most leagues and I usually play to win. You need a little bit of luck to win a league and you do not get that by selling top picks low. All that usually does is lock in your losses. If things do not pan out, then that is the way it is and there is not a whole lot you can do about it short of hoping you find a moron willing to trade you a top player for nothing and a league full of silly caveat-emptor owners wwho will sit by and allow a really bad deal to pass.
I agree in a sense However, I do think Upton is and will be a bust and he doesn't play for me anyways. How many games will I lose out on Chipper being hurt, missing time or going to the DL? (Plus the fact that he is on my bench as well)
That being said....if Chipper and/or Upton turn out to be great then yes.....I lose, so....I need to find a way that this trade (with modifications) makes me win regardless.
I believe Tex is better then Morneau (in which regardless of what happens....I win and he will boost the power hitting numbers more then Morneau giving me positive points in that area....maybe)
I also get Billingsly (top Fantasy SP) to add to my horrible (thus far) pitchers increasing my STATS and points for 2 guys that are not even playing and on my bench.

I just loss Sizemore to the DL and Scott may or may not be the real deal (I say he will be but who knows)......I am really trying to get Adam Jones from him so what do I need to do to get Jones (making it Tex/Bills and Jones)???
I agree though....in all the leagues I am in I shoot for 1st and in the current situation this trade makes my team better to shoot for that 1st goal because Tex overs Morneau and Bills is better than 2 guys I have benched so.....
Also....another reason I want to make this trade is because i like to win and I want to win this league, but most important for me in any Fantasy League is to have fun with it and another reason why I want to Get Tex out of this deal is because my wife likes him (he looks like 1 of her friends or some crap....lol) and if I can get her involved and watching more baseball on TV then that takes away from her given the attitude of me always watching or doing Fantasy crap (All guys with girlfriends/wives/etc....) know what I am talking about here.
Plus....from what I had gathered in a topic (whose better....Tex or Morneau)....everyone agreed with Tex!.....Plus it has been sweet watching him knock in Dingers (HR's) pretty much everyday for the last few weeks!
So......as you can see that is the main deal for the trade and he needs a 3B (obviously)....so what can I do to make this trade a little more in my favor with the hopes of me moving up the ladder? (Not to familiar with Roto leagues either since this is my first one and not sure why some days I get minus 2 points or whatever and some days I get plus points or some days no points at all)......the scoring on Roto is killing me as I don't know how to get positive points!....lol
