Need BA Help - Target Beltran/Cano? WHIR!

Postby jmcampbe11 » Sat May 30, 2009 8:53 am

I'm looking to improve in batting avg. This trade seems like a good fit and fair value (and will help my batting avg). Thoughts? Good move?

GIVE------------------GET
Hamilton------------Beltran
Carpenter-----------Cano
Zobrist---------------E.Jackson

MY TEAM - 1o team roto league. We KEEP 3 players each season.
C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-Alx.Ramirez 3b-Longoria CI-Reynolds MI-Zobrist
OF-Sizemore, Hamilton, Adm.Jones, Dye, V.Wells UTIL-Reimold (or Crisp)
SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Carpenter, Lilly, Jimenez, *Smoltz
RP-Broxton, Qualls, *Percival, Wheeler, Isringhausan, Morrow

If I made this trade my possible keepers for next season would be Sizemore, Longoria, and either Greinke or Beltran.

I would not do either. They could be even but I seen no huge upgrade.

Your team looks very well rounded right now.

I would however trade Greinke if I could land a huge bat at the SS, I.E. Hanley, Reyes, Rollins, in that order.

I'm leaning towards the second trade. What in particular don't you like about it? I think it would definitely give me a batting avg boost? Right? And it seems like I'm getting solid value in return.

Hamilton = Beltran
Carpenter = Cano
Zobrist = E.Jackson

I personally like this one a bit better than the other one actually. You're selling high on Zobrist and Carpenter, and I think Beltran and Cano could definitely help out your BA. Carpenter is like this year's Rich Harden, he'll pitch great when he does, but expect him to miss a decent chunk of time with numerous injuries.

The trade seems even to me...I think it's worth trying. Hopefully Beltran can stay healthy, although I suppose he always plays through pain.
