Bizarre is right. Don't know what to think. Speculation on stress-related issues reminded me of an "Answer Man" column I read back in April. The interviewer hurled a bunch of offbeat questions at Votto and Votto, in effect, struck out.

Sounded like the guy is wound pretty tight... :-*

does anyone know what people are saying in cincy? yahoo reported baker talked to him and "he sounded good". can't read too much into that quote - just wondering what the local scene has been saying about his issue.

This certainly doesn't sound good at all. Here's a Canadian baseball fan wishing him all the best.

Just read that he worked out with the team yesterday and today and that Baker said that he is getting close. Author continues to write that he will pobably need a rehab assignment.

Joey Votto is leaving on Wednesday for a minor league rehab assignment, and if all goes well, he could be back with the Reds before the end of June.
"It's kind of like spring training for him," manager Dusty Baker said. "He's got to get his legs under him. His wind back. We want him super ready for the next three months." Baker is hoping that Votto will be back June 30, but it's possible that the first baseman will be back in action even sooner. Jun. 17 - 5:03 pm et
