Offer Received

Postby Rbsurf » Fri May 29, 2009 8:09 pm

The other manager really needs a power hitting 1st baseman..I can use saves and/or Sp. here's offer

I get: Loney, Broxton
I give: Fielder.

I am always hesitant on a trade. Especially giving up a 35 homer guy. Should I counter with the following:

Berkman instead of fielder
My Dunn for Loney and Broxton(or Hoffman)

Should I then ask for hoffman if I offer Berkman???

Not enough. No closer is worth a top-2 round pick like Fielder. Getting Hoffman for Berkman is just as bad. Loney is a non-factor here.

Help?

What about Dunn. I know he will get the homers, but he is not gonna hit 280 for the year??

If i am trading Fielder or berkman should I ask for an SP as well.

How does this sound:

I give Fielder or Berkman and Dice
I get Haren, Cain, or Felix, Broxton and Loney?????

I think the trade is fairly even, given that Broxton is a stud RP. Can you afford to lose ground in the HR category? If so, and you really need saves, I like it.

It's tough to see anyone accepting Dunn for the 2. The counter of Berkman for Loney/Hoffman makes sense as well.

Edit: thanks for help with mine

I think I can...Vlad is on my bench and he will take either berkmans or fielders UTIL spot..

I have Berkman, Fielder, Dunn, Miggy, Youk, Vlad, Cruz, Hill, Hardy(tulo), Alexie as my top HR guys..

I think I am gonna target Hoffman or Broxton and one of his SP's(Felix, Cain, Haren, Garza)

Which package sounds better to yall:

Berkman(or fielder) Dice(or Kershaw) for broxton(or Hoffman) and one of those SP's?

Help me out cause all I know is that I need Saves(I have Fuentes, Rodney, Valverde, Rodney) and an SP(Dice,Wainwright, Lilly, Kershaw, Nolasco, Escobar)

Do I even need to make a trade?

Not smart to target a top tier releiver like Broxton. He's great in real life, but he doesn't pitch enough innings to significantly help you in era/whip. I'd go after someone like Qualls or B.Wilson.

Unfortunately Hoffman isn't a good target either because he's doing so well. Who are his other closers? You shouldn't have to give up players like Fielder or even Berkman (I know he's struggling) to land a closer.

He has lidge, broxton, Hoffman, Wilson.

I am trying to get Bell from another manager..but dunno if that will happen

Besides the hitters I have, the other one is Laroche. I doubt it that he will take him for a closer.
