Need advice on 6 step roster manuever *WHIR*

5 x5 Yahoo 12 team h2h keep 5 league

I am interested in picking up Ryan Doumit since he is cleared to resume baseball activities. I don't need him but he could be a good trading chip once he proves healthy.

I am also interested in picking up Kelvim Escobar who is cleared to join the Angels around June 5th.

Here's is my roster...
C Joe Mauer
1B Albert Pujols
2B Alexei Ramirez, Jose Lopez, Adam Kennedy (batting .388)
SS Yunel Escobar (missed 5 straight games)
3B Mark Reynolds, Garrett Atkins
OF Bobby Abreu
OF Justin Upton
OF Michael Cuddyer
Ut Jason Kubel
NA Manny Ramirez

SP Roy Halladay
SP Erik Bedard
SP Adam Wainwright
SP David Price
CP Brian Wilson
CP David Aardsma
RP Jason Motte
NA Rich Harden

DL Jose Valverde

I have picked up Kennedy to play 2B while Ramirez plays SS while Yunel is injured. I haven't played Lopez or Atkins in weeks because they are sucking.

Ok so tell me what you think about this idea.

1. I put Valverde on waivers because he is likely to not get claimed still weeks away from returning.
2. I fill his DL spot with Kelvim Escobar (then see who starts first Harden or he)
3. I put Jose Lopez on waivers because he is likely to not get claimed in his suckage
4. I fill his non-playing spot with Ryan Doumit
5. I trade Doumit, Kennedy, and maybe Harden once all healthy for a real SS/2B. Starting Alexei opposite of them.
6. I pick up Jose Valverde & Jose Lopez of FA list late June

Is this possible? Is this a good idea? Should I drop Kennedy instead of Lopez?

My guess is that you'll lose Valverde if your league is at all active. People pay attention to closers, and it is 12 teams after all.

Any reason you're keeping Motte around? I don't get the sense he's getting his job back.

Help with mine?

If your team is active, Lopez and Valverde will not be available in late June. Somebody in your league will undoubtedly take a flier on one of those guys and give them a shot. Motte is not worth owning AT ALL, so you should drop him and pick up someone accordingly. I'd take Escobar over Doumit seeing as how he's the one who'll help you all season.

Help?

I guess I should have mentioned my league keeps track of holds and not WHIP. Thus Motte is very valuable with his 10 holds.

My league is active but most of the moves don't make sense. I guess somebody might take Valverde but most people have let injured guys on through.
