I think Shields / Carpenter are basically a wash at this point. Depends if you need speed or power. I personally really like Ibanez this year so would lean towards making the trade.

There's no way that I would trade Ellsbury and Shields in this trade!

The owner with Ibanez and Carpenter is CLEARLY selling high on the two veteran players for some younger talent. Ellsbury is clearly the best player in this deal, and has the potential to score 120 runs with ~60 SBs and a .300 AVG. Especially in a keeper league, there is no way that I would trade away a young player like Ellsbury without getting elite talent back. I understand that Ibanez is having a career year, but he's 37 years old! Carpenter is still coming off of shoulder surgery, and Shields is one of the top pitchers in the AL.

Pass for sure!

I do it myself, you have a good group of keepers otherwise, and will have the option to pick up some more in the upcoming years. Ibanez and Carpenter (with health) will be better than Ells and Shields this year and next at least, in my opinion. Raul in Philly is for real.

Well, I did do the trade and he through Porcello in to get me to accept. I just didnt see room on my keeper list for Ellsbury. Heres my keeper list as it stands:
Mauer
A.Gonzalez
Uggla or Michael Young (maybe because of the position)
Aramis Ramirez
Sizemore
Beltran
Bay
Adam Jones (if he keeps this pace up)
Billingsley
Cliff Lee or Carpenter

I was offered today Vernon Wells, B.Abreu, Troy Tulowitzki for Adam Jones and Michael Young. Would you do this in a keeper league?
