Postby guest » Mon Mar 15, 2004 12:45 pm

I drafted last night, and I feel like I have an ok team but I lost out on the pitching. Do you think I should trade for some pitching help, or I have some options on waivers too. ( Brett Myers, Jerome Williams, Ben Sheets, Jarrod Washburn)
We start a player at each position including Utility and 5 pitchers and 2 relievers.

C-Javy Lopez
1B-Richie Sexson
2B-Alfonso Soriano
3B-Eric Chavez
SS-Angel Berroa
OF-Carlos Beltran
OF-Rocco Baldelli
OF-JD Drew
Utility-Rafeal Palmiero

SP-Javier Vazquez
SP-Johan Santana
SP-Brandon Webb
SP-Rich Harden
SP-Jake Peavy

RP-Troy Percival
RP-Eddie Guardado

Bench-Phil Nevin
Bench-Cliff Floyd
Bench-Bobby Crosby
Bench-Toby Hall
Bench-Adam Kennedy
Bench-Jose Guillen

I am confused with trading Vazquez when he is my best pitcher. Shouldn't I try to trade a hitter or two for a pitcher? I am thinking about dangling Sexson out there for a pitcher and replace Sexson with Rafael Palmeiro.

You have the right idea. Try and get a good pitcher for sexson. You could even add Baldelli to the deal and then replacce him with Floyd or Nevin. I'd say you had a very good draft.

All four of the pitchers on the waiver wire are better than Jake Peavy.

I suggest that you drop Kennedy and Hall and use two bench spots for pitchers.
