Ricky Nolassco or Clay Bucholtz? WHIR 100% guarantee

Postby shoelessjoetara » Thu May 28, 2009 1:38 pm

I am in a 14 team mixed roto league and both are available. Which one will have more upside whan they return. I am leaning towards Bucholtz because of the team he plays for but will he impact this year or next is the biggest question. I would have to drop Saltalamacchia for him since Wieters is up now. I could pick both of them up and drop either Rafael Soriano, Mike Gonzalez or David Aardsma also. Does Gonzalez have a strong hold on the closers job, I don't think so. What should I do. Leave a link and I will help youy.

I'd take the gamble on Nolasco. If he has another quality outing in AAA he'll be back up, and he looked a lot better in his outing last night. It doesn't sound like there will be an opportunity anytime soon for Buchholz to come up unless someone gets injured. They've already got a logjam if Smoltz returns...

Tough one. I'd take Bucholtz if I knew he had a spot for sure but thats unlikely unless they trade Penny or someone gets hurt. Don't forget Smoltz is back soon too. I'd pick up Nolasco and hope he gets his head on straight.

I'd probably drop Aardsma. Morrow will get the job back soon.

I'd go with Nolasco for this year as you know he'll be back in the majors...he just has to figure out what's going on. For Buckholz we know he's tearing up Triple "A", but there just isn't a spot in the rotation for him at the moment with Beckett, Lester, Dice-K, Penny, Wakefield and soon Smoltz.

Let me know your thoughts...
