Possible trade for Longoria

Postby Markus09 » Tue May 26, 2009 10:44 pm

Hey guys i need some help. I am in a keeper league and my team is shit. On paper its awesome but stat wise = shit. Now the keepers in this league work out to be, 4 position players 1 has to be a OF. 2 SP, and 1 RP. Now the trade would be one of two, Arod for Longoria or Lincecum and Blalock for Longoria Should i do it. My roster is as follows,

C-Saltalamacchia
1st- Votto
2nd- Freddy Sanchez
3rd- Alex Rodriguez
SS- Hanley Ramirez
OF- Grady Sizemore
OF- Carlos Quentin
OF- Michael Cuddyer
UTL- Alexi Ramirez
UTL- Hank Blalock

SP- Jake Peavy
SP- Tim Lincecum
SP- Rich Harden
Sp- Joba Chamberlain
SP- Dontrelle Willis
SP- Rick Porcello
SP- Andrew Miller
SP- Josh Outman
SP- Hiroki Kuroda
RP- Jonathan Papelbon
RP- Kevin Gregg

Thanks for the help guys.

I don't think you can spare Lincecum. we are still early in the season, I can't see how your team can be that far out of it.

Saying that I don't think you need to make a trade. Longoria is good.....but so is AROD although it doesn't seem like he will be stealing much this year.....but he has a real good supporting cast around him. I think it will be like trading an apple for an apple.

can you help with mine

I echo Bo_Sox's thoughts. If you could keep Longoria that would be a whole other deal. I think Lincecum is a keeper for you and looks to be a pretty critical piece of your pitching right now. I'd sit tight.

What do you mean if i could keep Longoria? If i traded for him he would be my keeper.

You explain the keepers strangely, but I see that you could keep Longoria. But I see no reason to do it, really. ARod, Sizemore, and HanRam are your studs and they are not off to particularly good starts. Wait patiently for them to turn it around and you'll be fine. ARod for Longoria is fine in a keeper, but I think it's basically just moving parts this year....
