Beltran+Bedard for Liriano+Oswalt+Fuentes? WHIR 100%

Postby litlmess15 » Tue May 26, 2009 8:46 pm

I would trade Fransisco Liriano, Roy Oswalt and Brian Fuentes for Carlos Beltran, Erik Bedard and Milton Bradley. I figure that i'm gonna bench Liriano anyways, may as well get some value for him while i still can; Bedard is just as good if not better than Oswalt, and I can deal with having 2 closers and try and steal another guy (like grabow) off the while as a stopgap, and then i get to boost my hitting with Beltran, leaving me free to deal someone like Sizemore or Fielder for a front line starter. Should i pull the trigger?

Highly competitive 14 team h2h with the following categories:
Batters: R, HR,RBI, SB, AVG, K
Pitchers: W,L,SV,K,ERA,WHIP

Heres my team as it stands:

C- K.Suzuki
1B- A.Pujols
2B- B.Roberts
3B- M.Lowell
SS- T.Tulowitzki
of- G.Sizemore
of- J.Damon
of- S.Choo
util- B.J. Upton
util- P. Fielder
b- S.Drew
DL- R. Doumit

sp- A. Harang
sp- F.Liriano
sp- J.Chamberlain
rp- B.Fuentes
rp-R. Franklin
p-K.Wood
p- R.Oswalt
b- A. Wainwright
b-J.Zimmermann
b-Z.Duke
b-J.Grabow

I say do it, Liriano is a bum now and Oswalt will struggle to get wins, he and Bedard may even be a wash at this point. You'll miss Fuentes but Beltran is a top quality player.

Thanks for help on mine I considered Callaspo but went with Andrus about 2 minutes before your post, good to have the confirmation though.

I'd make the trade. Liriano has been pretty bad and Oswalt has been very disappointing this year. Even with Beltran a little gimpy, he's by far the best guy in the deal.

Definitely make this deal. Beltran is the best player in the deal and you are right you are getting something for Liriano which is big right now. I really like Bedard too. Nice deal.

thanks for your help with mine

Thanks for the help.

I like the trade alot.

You are getting the best player by far and best pitcher in the deal.

Liriano and Oswalt are prob. going to struggle all year. I see Liriano getting a little bit better but not great. Fuentes is a ok closer but your SP would get much more of a boost to make up for the closer roll.

Thanks for the help on mine - sorry I was slow to get to this. I've got to echo the others here, this is a MUST do trade. Oswalt hasn't looked great and you already know about Liriano's struggles. I can't believe the other manager would give up Beltran and not get a 1st round-type player back. You get the best player in the trade by far, not to mention Bedard who is putting together a nice little season. Well done!!
