Matt Weiters debuts Friday 5/29

Was dropped about 5 days ago in my Yahoo league by the guy who drafted him - guess he got tired of waiting. I was 12th out of 12 in waiver priority as I used my priority about two weeks ago to snag Wainwright who had been dropped. Suffice it to say, I put in a claim but did not get Weiters. I could have really used him as I have the struggling Yadier Molina as my only catcher, but I'm quite happy to have Wainwright as a consolation prize - guy's been lighting it up.

Sounds like you need to find a tougher league if people are dropping players like Wainwright, or Wieters in late May, IMO.

Yeah, probably. It's a league with a bunch of college buddies, been going now for almost a decade. About half of the owners are very active and know their stuff. About a quarter of the owners are active and don't know their stuff. And the last quarter of the owners just don't care. There's no money involved, it's just for fun, so I don't mind lucking into guys like Wainwright every now and then - and to be fair to the guy who dropped him, it was right before he began his recent 3 game hot streak. Still, definitely a bad move, but looks a lot worse now than it did two weeks ago.

I don't know about y'all, but I was happy to wake up this morning and go put Wieters into my line-up today! Here's hoping he has a solid ML debut.

Let's not push the panic button if he starts off slow, I think this kid's gonna rake... it's just a matter of when, not if.

I heard a prediction that he was going to go 6-6 with 3 GS and a 3-Run shot. Also he's going to throw out all 6 runners trying to steal by getting the ball to 2B before the runners can even begin their slide, because he's just that good.
