Miguel Cabrera's strikeouts down

I've noticed Miggy has really cut his strikeout rate so far this year. He's a guy who typically strikes out around 130 times a season. He's currently on pace for about 80.

Anyone have any insight as to why? Change in his approach? Small sample size? Or is he just moving on to the next level?

nothing is really out of the ordinary for him. gb/fb, ld%, hr/f are all normal for him. walks are down a little. its probably just because he's hitting everything in sight.

Meh, his eye isn't much better. His O-Swing% is around his career average. The only difference I see is his O-Contact is over 10 percent higher than normal. Ie. His eye isn't better, he just makes contact with the bad pitches he does swing at. Similar to Vlad.

Me too. I keep thinking that a Miggy hitting .370 should have more than 9 HRs by now. Hard to complain though.
