I see today Furcal was held out with back issues. He has been pretty bad this year and posing no threat to steal on the basepaths. Back issues do not disappear especially with what happend last year. Hes not a young guy either. Any dodger fans got more info? ;-7

I don't know this for sure, but my impression of Furcal is that they sit him once a week so that the back doesn't become a problem. I don't think the back is a problem right now. He missed today's game because of a sore buttock!! :-D And yes I'm serious.

Anyone know if he is actually hurt? Thinking of droping him. He is on the bench once per week to protect his back and is only hitting 240 with minimal steals. Is he worth keeping around.

I think he is hurt. I dropped him about two weeks ago and haven't looked back. I drafted him for steals and he isn't doing any stealing, so he's gone! Obviously, the question of whether he's worth keeping around has a lot to do with what is available on your FA list. I was able to pick up a very hot Jason Bartlett ( and then he went on the DL just a few days after I picked him up) and right now I have a flu-ridden Ryan Theriot. But I haven't even though about picking Furcal back up; I just think he's hurt and quite possibly already reaching the downside portion of his career. This is his tenth big league season after all............

I too dropped him for the theriot. I gave him two months and he has possibly been the worst fantasy ss this year. He is old and not stealing or playing much cuz of back problems. Bye bye furcal...Hart is next on the clock haha

I am tempted to part ways with Mr. Furcal myself.

The only thing stopping me is my memmory of him here in Atlanta...

He is what I term a Warm Weather Player.

When it hits 90+ and gets all sticky in the summer he rakes and runs....

I will ride him another week or so.

I just traded Furcal for Mr. David Price in time or his 11 K performance a few days back. Apparently the guy didn't know furcal takes a day off every 4 days!!! ;-D oh well, its better than just dropping him.

Trust me you want no part of a league with rubes. There is nothing more frustrating then having managers who don't know what their doing impacting the outcome of leagues with brainless trades.
