who is the better player?Blalock or Jeter for 2004?

Blalock is tearing it up in spring training.My opponent wants Jeter off of me for Blalock in return.Who's going to have the better #s?

This could go either way, IMHO. If I were guessing, I would probably go w/ Blalock, in terms of numbers.

I think that he's got a bit more power and could not do much worse hitting lefties than he did last year so he should improve at least that much, if not more. The only thing that Jeter has on him, in terms of fantasy results, is experience, and all of the aches and pains w/ it.

I would say Blaylock also. Just a gut feeling though.

Depends if you need some steals to go along with the average, or if your team needs power more. If steals, I'd grab Jeter and hope he's good to go. Blalock won't steal, but should have a better power season. Both will have similar batting averages, but Jeter should score more runs. IMO, they're even in total value, just depends on which stats you need more.

Blalock - he is young and played on a poor team. Plus he plays the hot corner. Maybe Texas is going in the right direction?

ditto. it also depends who you would replace jeter with a short. and who you have at thirdbase.
