I'm trying to work out a trade for a top 15-20 pitcher. The person I'm trading with needs an OF or a utility guy and a closer badly.
He proposed to me Shields and Juan Cruz for Berkman and Hoffman
The deal I'm thinking of counter proposing is:
Shields and Mike Gonzalez for Adam Jones and Hoffman
Am I crazy not to take the 1st deal and is he crazy not to take the 2nd? Which one is more fair?

I like the second deal for you. That way you get an actual closer and not just a stopgap (Cruz). Plus Berkman will probably be better in the long run than Jones.
Help w/mine?
