Keeper League Question?

Postby bcbhockey68 » Mon May 25, 2009 12:02 pm

My team is in first place, but my pitching is weak. I'm leary to make any changes, but how important is it to have a keeper pitcher (Peavy, Haren, Lincy, etc.) carried on to next season. First year keeper could use some advice, thanks.

14 team H2H keep 5 per year

My Team:
C Kurt Suzki (Oak-C)
1B Mark Teixeira (NYY - 1B)
2B Dustin Pedroia (Bos - 2B)
3B Ryan Zimmerman (Was - 3B)
SS Jimmy Rollins (Phi-SS)
OF Ryan Braun (Mil - OF)
OF Curtis Granderson (Det - OF)
OF Carlos Lee (Hou-OF)
Util Justin Upton (Ari - OF)
BN Brad Hawpe (Col-OF)
BN Adrian Beltre (Sea-3B)
BN Felipe Lopez (Ari-2B,3B,SS,OF)

SP Javier Vazquez (Atl - SP)
SP Chris Volstad (Fla - SP)
RP Rafeal Soriano (Atl-RP)
RP Brian Wilson (SF - RP)
P Rich Hill (Bal - SP)
P Jason Marquis (Col - SP)
P Edwin Jackson (Det - SP)
BN Roy Oswalt (Hou - SP)
BN Sean Marshall (Chc-SP, RP)
BN Kyle Loshe (Stl-SP)

First of all, play for the present. "Pennants fly forever". If you are in first but your pitching is weak, look to upgrade for this year, then the keepers will fall into place. In a 14 team 5 keeper, I would like to carry over at least one stud SP, IF I HAD HIM! But I wouldn't jeopardize this year just to acquire a keeper.
