Greinke

Oswalt
Dempster
Lowe
Scherzer

What type of starter could I get for one of the OFers and one of my SPs?
I want to keep Greinke and C. Lee. (I forgot to mention that this is a 6 player keeper. I have at least 6 offensive keepers, but obviously Greinke will be staying with me, so I got some decisions to make)

I am looking towards a Bills/Haren/Hamels type, though Hamels and Haren may be hard to pry in a keeper. I may have to go with Bills or lower.
Any insight? I really want one more ACE to keep my ratios down and add some wins plus K/9. THNXS

Your pitching is great, I dont see why you need to make a move to get someone elite. In my opinion, elite pitchers are HIGHLY overrated. For instance, one good hitter can give you a huge amount of points or win a matchup by himself in head to head leagues. Pitchers on the other hand can't, because they only pitch once or twice a week. With that being said, it's not worth paying top dollar for an elite pitcher, ESPECIALLY when you've got the likes of Greinke, Lee, Oswalt, and Lowe on your staff. You're in first place, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Help?

I appreciate the answer. I guess I was looking ahead to my 6 keepers. I am sure that Greinke will be there, but maybe if I traded some young talent, I could pair up Zack with another stud and have a leg up for next year, and still stay on course this year! ;-D

I tried to do the same thing last year. I'm a 6x6 12 team head to head league and I kept Webb and Lincecum. Obviously it looked like a good decision at the time, but pitchers are extremely susceptible to injuries which could make them worthless for an entire season. As it stands though, my pitching is still extremely strong without Webb and without Lincecum at his best. If anything that just shows the good value you can get later on in drafts. Good pitchers can be had late in drafts, meaning in the 10th and 11th rounds, even later. It is extremely difficult, however, to find quality bats in the later rounds in drafts. Hitting over pitching.
