Would you drop BJ Ryan for any of these guys? WHIR 100%..

Postby TheBambino » Sun May 24, 2009 11:52 pm

We can only play 3 closers at once ( I have Downs, Nathan, Lindstrom).... Im almost last in saves right now because my closers just arent getting work! But its killing me to be wasting a roster spot with Ryan... I never put him in and I dont know who to hold. I could drop Ryan for any of these potentials and then play them over Lindstrom. Or I could drop Ryan and go pickup a utility bat that I probably wouldnt use either! hahaah ......................HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!

Closers
- Izzy
- Soriano
- Madson
- Hanraham

Bats
- Konerko
- Zobrist
- S Hairston jr
- Helton
- Furcal
- Thome
- Hardy
- Kendrick
- Beltre
- Guzman

Help is really appreciated

I don't think I would drop BJ for any of those closers. Your offense looks great as well so there really isn't a huge need to drop him for a bat. If you really don't want to have him wasting space then drop him and grab Helton.. I don't see him cracking your lineup either though.

Help?

I would cut Ryan and pick up Soriano. He seems to rotate with Gonzalez in the closer role, but he's been much more effective then Gonzo and I think he'll eventually assume the role full time.

Help w/mine?

Based on Ryan's outing today... anyone else think I should cut him? and grab a bat or Soriano or Izzy

I would roll the dice with Izzy. But I would also rather have Soriano than Ryan at this point too.

When the Jays brought in BJ today, I couldn't believe Cito could be so stupid. I threw my hands up in disgust knowing exactly what was coming. It was a one run game, the Jays had a chance to get back in it. I know they pay BJ 12 million a year. I would much rather they paid him that to sit on the bench than to lose ball games. Hand him a broom if you want to keep him busy.

I'm not confident that he's ever going to right his ship. The Jays broke him. BJ had never had a significant injury before joining the team and now they can't keep him off the DL. Downs is a lock right now as closer. BJ no longer has value in fantasy leagues.
