I am in a standard Yahoo 12 team Roto league, I started ut in 1st place up until last week but now I am a point behind, 96.5-95.5, good news is that 3rd is at 71 points, for some odd reason I always stay at 94-96 points, and he has flucuated between 90-100 at any given time.
I have made some deals likepick up BJ Upton from waivers, dropped Adrian Beltre for Casey Blake, traded Carlos Quentin and Hunter pence (to clear up my OF logjam) for Heath Bell and Matt Cain and grabbed David Price for Stephen Drew
Can I battle him for 1st place, his offense is better, but I have a pitching edge

I think your pitching is better than his, but his offense is pretty crazy. It also doesnt help that Mauer, Longoria, Miggy, and Tex are on a tear. He does have a few underperformers in alexei, and now young since hes injured. You have a chance at catching up though. Kemp should pick it up once manny is back. Theres no way BJ sinks any lower than he is now but he really needs to hit a hot streak. Bruce hopefully hits for more avg soon. Overall, his team is just really hot right now. You just have to hope it cools down which it probably will.
Wieters should provide a nice boost when he gets the call. The buzz here in Balt is June 9th will be the magic. I'd probably just ride out his hot streak and hope you can compete. Your pitching staff is definitely better though so it might even out.
I think you can overtake first again. His offense is damn good, but I don't think it's waaay better than yours. He does have a marked advantage in speed though.... I agree that Wieters should provide a pretty nice boost when he gets called up. Your pitching staff is significantly better than his, though. I think that is where your battlefield lies.....
Thanks for your help with mine!

He's got some guys that are awfully hot right now, and should cool down sometime (Mauer, Hunter, maybe Young unless he's back to his 2005 form). I say just be patient and don't make any irrational moves - it's only May. Long ways to go still.
