Trade Ibanez? WHIR 100%

Postby clarkw267 » Sat May 23, 2009 4:50 pm

I know Ibanez has always been a solid hitter, but come on. He's on pace for UNREAL numbers and he just hit his 4th HR in as many games. Should I move him now while his value is at it's peak or should I hold onto him and ride it out?

I was thinking of possibly trying a Ibanez and D Lee for Youkilis trade? Make sense?

i think you can get much more for ibanez right now.. i think you trading ibanez for youkilis straight up would even be lopsided. hold out for as much as u can while ibanez is red hot.

Someone in my league just traded him and a failing Burnett for fucking Doc Halladay. Crazy people. Honestly though, he's currently the best hitter in baseball and God knows hes at least got another week or two of sick OBP before he begins to trail off. Stick with it.

Help please?

I dont agree with the guy saying dont trade him, but I do think you could aim a little higher. Aim for a slumper like Sizemore or something, though you might have to sweeten the pot a little to go that high.

I've got Sizemore... I really don't need OF with Braun, Sizemore, Upton... and Ethier who has tailed off.

I was thinking of a 3B, what would I have to add to Ibanez to get Wright or Longoria.. remember it's a KEEPER.

i'd offer ibanez and lee for longoria b/c you need a better 3B, and right now, longoria is the best. with the empty spot, you can pick up a back-up 1B like blalock if available. however, i do think ibanez will continue to have a good season. i'm not saying he'll constantly hit homers every week, but he'll be solid. now is the time to sell him while he's hot if you're gonna do it.

Honestly I don't think Ibanez and Lee will be good enough to pull Longo or Wright. But yah I definitely agree with your logic to trade while the value is high. Mind helping me with mine?

Thanks for replying to my post....

I agree with the Majority here. I would try to move him but you would definately be getting the short end of the deal if you traded for Youk. (even straight up)!

As along with alot of MLB stars right now....they are on schedule to post ridiculous #'s (as every season) but it won't happen so I would try and move Ibanez now or wait a couple more games and see if he heats up even more but make sure you get what you need for him or get what you want but make sure it's a sweet deal!

Good Luck!
